The Onion's A.V. Club has posted an article naming what they believe is the most rockin' song of all time. They even give the five requirements a song must meet in order to be "rockin'". These requirements (in abridged format, to read the full article, go here) are:
1. It came out between 1955 and 1980
2. It has to be bluesy, but not too bluesy
3. It can’t be a classic rock radio staple
4. It must make you drive at least 10 mph faster within the first 60 seconds and/or make doing the dishes fun.
5. You know it when you hear it.
The song they say is the most rockin': "Ramble Tamble" by Creedence Clearwater Revival
What do you think is the most rockin' song of all time?

I'd have to nominate "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple. It hits all the categories except maybe #3, but I don't listen to classic rock radio, so beats me if its a staple.
Edit: Oh wait, I would also count "Johnny B. Goode" by Chuck Berry. Of course, it might be its inclusion in Back to the Future that gets me excited.
And maybe "Kick Out the Jams" by MC5, especially the live version. Now there's a rocker.

Don't laugh but using that criteria it's "She'd Rather Be With Me" by the Turtles. Not using that criteria it's "Lithium" by Nirvana

For me it's classic punk ("I'm So Bored with the USA" by the Clash, "Neat Neat Neat" by the Damned, "Orgasm Addict" by the Buzzcocks and everything off of Nevermind the Bullocks...) - although I'm not sure how bluesy they are. Anything by Little Richard also makes me hit the gas pedal a little harder and/or washing dishes less tedious.

I purposefully don't listen to Silversun much anymore (wore down their cd, heh) but anytime "Well Thought Out Twinkles" comes on the radio - ALL WINDOWS DOWN.
But as far as the critia -anything bluesy and during the wild ride through the time of the Baby Boom, the choice of anything by Creedance is sheer perfection.

What is wrong with the 90's? They can't rock?

It's gotta be 'Miserlou' by Dick Dale & His Del-tones, screw the Pulp Fiction reference, this just rocks harder than anything I know.

Yeah, why is anything pre-1980 ruled out? That's lame. CCR is super lame. And I might agree with "Smoke on the Water," except it's definitely a classic radio standard.
Bah humbug! ;)

The uncontested champion of all time for most rocking song recorded between '55 and '80 is Little Richard's "Keep a Knockin."
Hands down. Runaway favorite.
And CCR sucks.

for me it starts and ends with the Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop.

Oh forgot the 'classic radio' rule....lets see.....
It would have to be Throwout Man by THREE LEGGED DOG RECORDED IN '87.
