Emmy in a box?
Submitted by imaginary ash on July 19, 2007.Ha! I love it. "Dick In A Box" is up for an Emmy. I don't watch "Scrubs," but I like that "Everything Comes Down to Poo" is also a contender. Ha!

I was within a couple feet of Andy Samberg last night! He and "Dick in a Box" co-writers Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer were in town promoting their stoopid (but fun) new movie Hot Rod. I got there rather late and had to sit near the front of the theater.
Rachel Flotard was in da house too. She took host Warren Ethridge's odd $50 challenge to destroy her cell phone during the intro. I wonder if she really got paid.
Anyway, during the post-screening Q&A the strange little woman next to me kept asking questions about breaking into comedy. Andy came over with a mic for each of two follow-ups.
Fresh from SeaTac, he smelled like airplane.
As for the Emmy race, I'm holding out for a snazzy number from the brilliant Scrubs musical episode: "Guy Love".

Thats true, SNL has been just horrible the past few years, but I'm hopeful and I think that Andy Samberg and Keenen Thompson will drag it out of its slup
but I still love Maya Rudolph!
Deep House Dish is probably my favorite runnning skit, besides of course the one with Andy Samberg as the famous rap artist!

Yeah, I edited my first comment too (to add the Rachel Flotard sighting) which kicks it down to #4 - Kiku's too fast for me!
Anyway yes, Kiku @2, it's silly fun. I laughed more than I care to admit. Definitely worth a matinee.

He totally is! And I'm pretty psyched about Kristin Wiig, too. I think I was the only person that ever watched "The Joe Schmo Show," but she was real good on that too, and I'm glad she's on TV regularly again.
Still doesn't make SNL very watchable, as a whole. And she'll probably end up jumping the shark a la Ana Gasteyer/Maya Rudolph/Amy Poehler/Cheri Oteri, who were all totally funny when they started and became intolerable, in my opinion.
(Note: You guys totally had a conversation while I was typing this, so it's in response to Kiku's comment #2)
(I mean Kiku's #1)
(Geez)

But as for "Scrubs," I just don't get it. That show's brand of humor is totally uninteresting and dull to me. Just like Conan.
imaginary embracey said on July 19, 2007:
I'm a Conan fan too. Scrubs is in a different league to me -- I stopped being a regular viewer several years ago, but that musical episode is fantastic.

Oy. I've been searching through the blog vaults for the old post in which me and ig(Char? Liz? Can't remember) duked it out over Conan and Craig Ferguson. The point was, we've discussed this before. I no like Conan.

I love this song so much! Andy Samberg is the best thing to happen to SNL in a long time
