Local salon VAIN is amazing, right? You all know they give fabulous haircuts and are all complete rockstars. So when they asked if they could give us imaginary girls rockstar makeovers before our Friday night 5th birthday bash show at the Crocodile, we of course said helllllls yeah!!!
They asked us if we had anything special in mind for our makeovers. I told them I wanted to look like Amy Winehouse. Liz said she wanted chrome-colored extensions. (Chrome is her favorite color.) Betsy Boston got off the plane and headed along for the ride, having no idea what she was in for. VAIN had amazing photographer (and imaginary contributor) Sarah Joann Murphy on hand to document the entire shebang.
Needless to say, we were all VERY excited.
Here's how Liz and I arrived at VAIN, plain as can be.....
Here are our amazing stylists in action!
Roxana teased my hair mercilessly, to great lengths (and great effect) in preparation for my Winehouse-esque full-on beehive...
Bijou got Betsy Boston all primped and crimped for the big party -- with pink hair extensions added for extra effect...
Jake not only cut and colored Liz's locks, but also added the asymmetrical extensions of Liz's imaginary dreams to boot...
Christine completely diva-ed us out with her amazing makeup skillz....
The end results????
Betsy Boston looks positively ravishing...
And Liz and I don't look too shabby ourselves. The transformation is truly astonishing. We had no idea we could look or feel so glamorous!!!!
And I got to fulfill my look-like-a-Winehouse fantasy!
A zillion million thank yous to Roxana, Bijou, Jake, Christine, Rebecca, and Sarah at VAIN for making all this possible. If any of you ever need to feel like a rockstar, there's no better place in town to go!!

I also enthusiastically endorse Vain - I get my hair cut or trimmed every two weeks there (including later this afternoon). Making Dana and Liz and Betsy look great is wonderful and all, but making me look cool(-ish) all the time borders on miraculous.

This was one of my fave parts of the evening - you gals were already beautiful, but the new 'dos sent me over the moon!!! Had such a fab time at the party!

VAIN is fantastic. I got my pink hair there in August and its still as vibrant as ever! Plus, continuous 80s hits on the PA!
