Tonight in Seattle:

There is more than one way to sell out the cat

And another milestone falls!

Fergie, the former meth-smoking "singer" for the Black Eyed Peas (I think her real job description is "midriff exposer"), has signed a $4 million deal with Candies to, well, sing about their clothes in her songs. Yes friends, her music will now be a commercial for a company - the ultimate in corporate synergy!

You like the idea of paid product placement in music? I mean, it's one thing to license your songs, but it is entirely another to get paid to sing songs about a product (in a non-commercial). I suppose holding Fergie to some sort of artistic standard was too much. I mean, anyway who gets famous thanks to her "lady lumps" is an musical genius right?

(Hat tip to The Superficial for this musical disaster waiting to happen).

I just tried posting an entry with this exact same story - just after I heard it on the radio.

I guess I'll need to pay closer attention to the Imagi-blog.

Ugh. This is the future of pop.

Glorified jingles.... That's all I have to say.

If I were a jingle writer (and, yes, I have considered it), I'd be pissed.

I was expecting more LOLCATS in this post. Very disappointed.

If you're listening to Fergie, what else are you expecting -- artistic integrity??

And Betsy, I sure hate to let you down, so here ya go:
