Perfect From Now On

I was in Borders yesterday trying to spend my 30% off coupon and I came across the book Perfect From Now On by Jon Sellers and it looked super cool, even with the subtitle "How Indie Rock Saved My Life." Anyway, I almost bought it but the cheap New Englander in me couldn't deal with the $23 sticker price for the hardcover book.

If anyone has read it and can convince me its worth the bucks, I'll run back and get it. Any literate TIG folks want to help me out?

I have a copy of PFNO, but I haven't read it from cover-to-cover yet. From what I read of it (and from what I remember from Jon Sellers' book reading a couple of months ago), it is really funny.

I've been meaning to write something on the blog about the book, but haven't gotten around to reading the whole thing. His favorite band is GBV, if that means anything.

I did the exact same thing. It looked like a cool book, but I refuse to pay so much for that. I'm waiting till I can get it at the library ;]

Come on people it's 2007, no need to wait for a price drop at the bookstore, you can just wait for the mailman to deliver it to your door!

yeah i am reading it now. i got it from the library. it is written for a fairly specific person.

ages between 30-40

and someone from the midwest or not a big city.

and love indie rock.

so this description fits me but so far it reads sort of how i would write a book. which to be honest isn't very good.

i dunno i like reading the references and obviously have tons in common with this guy so i will finish but unless you fall under these guidlines you might not enjoy it.
