Imaginary Idlewild Day!

IdlewildI hearby proclaim today Imaginary Idlewild Day for today the US release of their latest record, Make Another World, is at long last available! HUZZAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

igLiz and I have been long-time fans of the Scottish band, Liz even going so far as traveling to the T in the Park music festival a few years back to see them play in their native land.

You can buy the record on Amazon, but I can't wait that long -- so I'm heading to Sonic Boom RIGHT NOW to go buy it. Updates coming soon on a track-by-track basis...

What other new releases are you all excited about today? Jarvis Cocker? Fountains of Wayne? What's good, what's not-so-good...?

For this week (in addition to Idewild) I gotta say the Kings of Leon have done it again. The record is gonna make its way onto my summer playlist fo' sure!

If anyone is looking for an ambient textured record to woo your beloved too, then check out Wax Tailor "Hope & Sorrow" too. Not usually my thing, but the songs have seeped into my subconscious and just won't let go!

If you missed the release of David Vandeveldes "Moonstation House Band" a few weeks back, it definitly is worth checking out. It's sorta T-Rex-ish, but dare I say even better (let the flames commence!)

In soon be be released news, dont miss Laura Veirs "Saltbreakers" next week. Another stunning release from LV and the tourtured Souls, Yo!

I know I've written it several times here (even as far back as 2 years ago), but I've been waiting for a proper Fountains of Wayne album for about 4 years now.

In fact, I'm going to drive down to a record store and pick it up on my lunch break. So excited!!!

So far, so awesome!!!

Track #5 "If It Takes You Home" is particularly rocking my afternoon so far.

Serotonein, if you didn't get your copy today, you can come over and listen to mine... :)

Hmm. Track six ("Future Words") is kind of a ballad. "You can steal what you love, but you can't love what you steal."

I'm not so sure about that one...

C'mon Roddy!
