IT’S ALMOST TIME FOR SIFFty! The50th Seattle International Film Festival kicks off on Thursday, May 9th with its Opening Night Gala, screening THELMA, directed by Josh Margolin and starring June Squibb. June will also be honored with the 2024 Golden Space Needle Award for Outstanding Contribution to Cinema at a special June Squibb Tribute Event on Saturday, May 11th.  In-person screenings will take place Friday, May 10th  through Sunday, May 19th – followed by select films available for streaming on the SIFF Channel May 20th–27th.

This year’s festival includes 207 Films! That’s 92 Features, 47 Documentaries, 5 Archival Presentations, 115 Short Films, and 2 SUPER SECRET titles. There’s also another Tribute Event happening on Saturday, May 18th: A Conversation and “Hacks” Screening with Jean Smart

AND BIG HEADS UP: Closing Night of the festival will be on SATURDAY, May 18th this year! With a screening of SING SING at SIFF Cinema Downtown and an afterparty at MOHAI. But there will still be screenings all day that Sunday, repeats of things that have already screened just in case you missed something.
