Joseph Riippi
Joseph Riippi was born on Capitol Hill in Seattle in 1983. From 1983 to 2001 he lived in Tacoma and Puyallup. From 2001 to 2005 he lived in Williamsburg, Virginia. In 2005 he moved to Manhattan, where he still lives. In the summers between 2001 and 2005 he spent his Mays and Junes working at Picha Berry Farms in Puyallup; Julys and Augusts were spent living on a boat on Orcas Island in the San Juans. During the other seasons he studied literature, creative writing, film and women's studies at the College of William and Mary in Viriginia.
He's written for Three Imaginary Girls ever since sending them an interview he did with the Unicorns on Superbowl Sunday, 2003. The Unicorns fucking rocked that DC basement. He started writing Tales from a Brave Ulysses as a way to kill his demons but as that population dwindled it became less a weekly column and more something about which he thinks "I should write that" from time to time.
Right now he's listening to NPR at his day job while writing a movie about how a new allergy drug works. Then he's going to get a cup of coffee, call the production company to bitch, and then get lunch. He's thinking either sushi or the Cuban place on 10th avenue (their Cafe con leche is to die for). Cheers.
