Armed with infectious beats and plenty of raucous energy, Jaguar Love put on a solid show Wednesday night at Sole Repair. The duo kicked off their set around eleven o'clock to an amped up audience that had formed a rough horseshoe around the band. For the uninitiated, Jaguar Love can be a shock - Johnny Whitney's vocals are choirboy, high pitched and Cody Votolato seems more comfortable weaving recklessly through the crowd, then performing in front of it - but by the end of the show, ninety nine percent of the audience was grinning like they had just been given the tastiest pre-Thanksgiving turducken ever made. (The show was a benefit for Northwest Harvest).

at Capitol Hill Block Party 2008

Some love them, others adamantly dislike them, but overall I thought they put on a good show and did nothing to soil the legacies of The Blood Brothers or Pretty Girls Make Graves.
