What is this that I spy? Unbelievably, Steve Martin released a record this year on Rounder entitled The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo. I haven't heard the whole record, but you can preview it on Amazon. Steve is a talented bastard, even if his latest films have proved disappointing and even unworthy of viewing.
The Crow features all new songs either written or co-written by Steve, and appearances by such lovelies as Dolly Parton, Earl Scruggs and Bela Fleck among others. Balls to the wall bluegrass is what I call it... a phrase I never dreamed I'd apply to anything Steve Martin-related.

Ms. Wainwright readies a new release and I squeal with anticipation
Latest comment by: Chris Estey: "What a killer album title. She is way ahead of the pack. I love playing "Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole" after listening to all the songs Loudon wrote about his disintegrating marriage. "Hey ho, pretty little Martha, hey ho, pretty little girl.""
