I'm just getting ready to work on transcribing my interview with the lovely ladies (and, full disclosure, my friends) of USE when I got an e-mail mentioning this item that should be of particular interest to our readers, I'm sure.
This Sunday, after USE plays Bumbershoot (at 4:15pm on the Broad Street Stage), USE is hosting a party at Havana to celebrate a) premiere the video to their single "KISSING", b) their west coast tour that begins that week and c) the digital release of their new album L O V E W O R L D. The party will also include members of USE spinning records as well as DJs from The Lashes and maybe a few others.
The album is released digitally next Tuesday (September 8), but people who go to the party at Havana (and pay the $5 cover) will get a card that includes a digital download code to download L O V E W O R L D.
This all begins at 9pm at Havana (1010 E. Pike St.), 21+.

Kerri Harrop just sent along a last minute but cherished notice about tonight's Havana parking lot party-with-film, the showing of Spike Lee's classic film Do The Right Thing.
Now, chances are, if you don't like Spike Lee, you probably still either like this movie because it's fun and meaningful, colorful and musical. BUT you should know that with the showing of Lee's bio-doc Passing Strange this past SIFF (2009) a lot of people are realizing just how underrated a filmmaker Lee really is. He stuffs so many humanist ideas and details of various milieus into his movies, when he is at his best they are worth watching over and over again. Do The Right Thing is still one of his best. And a party atmosphere in the parking lot of Capitol Hill club Havana on August 5th sounds like the best place to catch that flick. Here's the PR, and about upcoming movies at Havana:

Today is my 24th birthday...
Tonight the Saturday Knights have a FREE show at Havana, with free drinks, at 7p, Seattle band the Cops are opening, and then they're going to debut the video for "45" afterwards.
