"Amy's covered in nicotine patches and eating like a horse"
Latest comment by: Cory Banks: "That dog wants that beer _so_ bad. Wait till she passes out, Cujo, and then it's party time."
Thank goodness it wasn't the Foo Fighters
Latest comment by: serotonein: "yes, because more fame is always the route to healthy behavior ;) i do not watch the grammys & it's been a long time since winning one was a valid barometer of anything more than a combination of album sales & industry navel-gazing"
OK, I am really busy today, but this was too good to pass up.
NME is reporting that UK pop-wreck Amy Winehouse is planning on recording, yes, a Christmas and Hanukkah album! She'll supposedly be working with her current producer, the ever-popular Mark Ronson. I'm just amused by this whole idea considering the mess Amy seems to be in these days, but hey, more power to her (but you do have to love the juxtaposition of this story with the picture NME decided to use.)
And oh yeah, if you've missed it so far, here's Amy with her new blonde 'do. Dana, you better pick yourself up some hair bleach, eh?
Latest comment by: imaginary dana: "Oh my where to start? Could it be she's just dreaming of a white Christmas?"
I have so many favorites for 2007 that narrowing the lists was tricky. Plus I'm preggo as a house and have NO memory at this point, so I'm sure I've inadvertently omitted some really great releases and songs. Forgive me and my wacked out hormones.
But that said, here are some Top of 2007 lists from me, to you. Feel free to leave comments both nasty and supportive. I likely deserve both for some of my erratic tastes.
The official results of the TIG Best NW Releases of 2007 Readers' Poll are coming VERY soon... stay tuned! In the meantime, some of my personal picks for a wonderful year in music past:

Latest comment by: randy: "Nice list, but I'm just so tired of seeing list after list this month. So why do I look then? I don't know! Maybe next year we can all just skip December and go straight from November to January's new releases? That would be nice."
It's been a busy week for celebrity trainwrecks.
Latest comment by: imaginary ash: "Yeah, she'd have to be on crack to think blonde is a good color for her. Yiyiyi!"
I made a 'Best of '07' compilation for coworkers and thought I'd share my picks with you, in no particular order. Hope you've got a little time to spare!
All downloads have been posted with permission from the bands themselves. Thanks bands!
1. Nicole Atkins and the Sea: "The Way It Is"
I think this is my favorite song of the year. Here's the clip from Letterman.
2. Peter Bjorn and John: "Young Folks"
I'm such a sucker for whistling. And isn't this the most visually satisfying video ever.
Latest comment by: Levi: "I just remembered the theory I came up with last night but forgot: that song was this year's "feel good hit of the summer," hence its inclusion in the song by that name."
Grammy nominees have been announced with igDana fave Amy Winehouse picking up nominations for best album,
Latest comment by: julia: "Wow, that's as good as that one "alternative" station that goes by the name, "the end," or something like that."
Well, it's another week (weak) of re-issues, remixes, and scraps.
Latest comment by: Tim Hanken: "I'm holding on to the session musician theory anyway. It feels good to be so cool (by transitive property of course.)"
Back stateside, the much less controversial Pipettes seem to be much hotter than Amy lately -- hot enough to set a monitor on fire onstage!
Latest comment by: imaginary dana: "Hahah, touche! At least I lived to recover and tell about it..."
NME has posted their "Cool" findings for 2007 on their website and has opened the voting for the Readers' Top 10 on their website.
Latest comment by: imaginary liz: "Yea we should start a list / Readers vote! Although, tied with Erik G is Jarvis."
