Tonight in Seattle:

EMP Sound Off

Indie-pop-iliciousness from Vancouver {Canada}: The Oh Wells

In case you didn't get a chance to see them at the 2011 all-ages battle of the bands competition, Sound Off at the EMP (at which our very own imaginary staffer Chris Estey judged), we'd like to introduce you to The Oh Wells hailing from Vancouver, Canada. You can hear their coy and commanding four-song debut ep on their website (go listen!).

These young ladies and a guy craft sparkling pop songs built around lush piano lines, sunny guitar, and melded vocals that twinkle with folk that blend the inspirations of Mirah, Feist and a tad of that dog.

What is your latest new fave band (Pac NW or otherwise)?

A couple imaginary drum rolls and several catcalls and chants later, Port Townsend’s New Faces emerged victorious.

Fav Photos of the Moment: The Editors, The Liars, and the King Cobra

I can spend hours on Flickr browsing and following tangential tags amazed by all the stellar stuff out there. I'm not even sure what got me on there this morning, but here's three photos that made me gasp.

Have you found some recently that you've favorite'd?
(note: If you want to post your fav photo in the comments, make sure it is max 450 pixels wide... thankee.)
