Listen up: November 18th will be the last time Bronze Fawn graces any stage. Their bio mentions the sound of the band being "lush... shoegaze with 70's-inspired prog-psychedelia" which, in my book, translates to GOOD TIMES. Get your drink on (this is a 21+ show) if you drink, smoke if you got 'em, or whatever your pleasure may be. Also, if you show up, we can whisper all sorts of things about Bryce Shoemaker... he plays guitar in Bronze Fawn and is a former school-mate of mine. Can anyone say "drama club"?
You. Me. Bronze Fawn. Last show. November 18th. Neumos. 21+. And guess what? We've got two tickets to give away!
To enter the contest, simply email tig {at} threeimaginarygirls dot com with the subject line DontStopBelievinInBryce, and tell us why you deserve to win. The more creative, the better! And you only have until November 16th at noon to enter... so don't delay.
As if you need more convincing, Bronze Fawn will be playing with Eighteen Individual Eyes. Think Blonde Redhead with a healthy side of rock, and just a smidge of late 90's/early 00's mathiness. If any of you out there were ever into Primrosa, you will probably be into Eighteen Individual Eyes -- point is, they're not to be missed.
Basically, you will totally cry into your Four Loco if you miss this show. No joke-o.

Truthfully, I'm even a little star-struck just typing this: Adam Franklin (singer, guitarist and main songwriter for Swervedriver) will be headlining the late show at the Comet with Bolts Of Melody (his back up band) this Saturday, January 23. You probably remember Swervedriver best from your Shoegazer 101 class Freshman year when your professor pointed all the points of brilliance of Swervedriver songs like "Duel" and "Rave Down."
Even more lovely is that taking the stage before Adam will be some of Seattle's finest fuzzy indie-rocksters: Black Nite Crash, Nightmare Air (actually from Los Angeles), and Bronze Fawn.
If you didn't make it that far in the class (or opted for Paisley Underground 101 instead) - behold the 90s 'gazer-ness:
And if you want to fill in the cracks of your shoegazer / Swervedriver studies even more-- go to Swervedriver.com where they've filled the site chock full of loads of live tracks for everyone to download and adore.
Over the buzz of the crowd, Ash Bowie thanked us for coming out on a Tuesday. I think Polvo fans would come out even if their grandmother was being buried that day.

When I moved to Seattle 12 years ago, I spent a lot of time talking on the phone to friends back home, mostly about music. My friend Keith mentioned Polvo to me and I said I hadn't heard of them. I still vividly remember his response: "Get thee to a record store, woman! I'm hanging up right now. Go!" So I went out and bought Shapes. Two days later, I went back and bought Exploded Drawing. I was really drawn to both the sludgy drone of the guitar work and the random, weird Eastern backdrop of it all. And then it was over. Polvo was suddenly, sadly no more.
Everyone should check back on a regular basis with the Comet to see what other Sunday Matinee shows are in store for us. Based on the quality of the lineup of this Sunday, I'll definitely keep going back, especially seeing as fall and winter are on us, these shows could be a cool way to keep the winter doldrums at bay. Only problem forseen, I definitely wasn't sober in time for dinner.
Three days of electric fuzz and long-haired men - count me in!
