"No Deal!" says Kim Deal about a new Pixies album deal
Submitted by Erik Gonzalez on October 12, 2007.Well, Pixies fans, I hope you got your fill with the Pixies last tour. Although many words were written about rumors that the venerable modern rock stars would record a new album, NME is reporting that there will be NO new Pixies album. Kim Deal apparently sees no need for new recorded Pixies material, and Black Francis/Frank Black says that's that.
I actually kind of agree. I'd hate to see the Pixies become like the Police or Jane's Addiction.
And considering it's Friday and rainy (well, in Davis), I think we all would enjoy the Pixies performing "Gigantic" (from 1988 ... even if Kim is wearing a UCLA t-shirt).

First off, the Deal sisters are the some of the coolest chicks in rock; period.
I think Kim is smart to not keep trotting out something whose time has past and left an indelible mark on Rock History.
She has moved on (The Amps, The Breeders & Solo) and so has the rest of the band (including that Frank Black guy).
I am way more interested to see and hear what she does next than hoping for another Pixies record.
PS - Breeders Title TK is in my top 20 records of all time and The Amps "Hooverin" in in my top 100 songs, so I am a bit biased.

I'm glad to read that someone else thought Title TK was great. I seem to remember it got a lot of flack when it came out.

I would love a new Pixies album. For that matter, I would ADORE another reunion tour. Because well when they reunited the first time, I had no idea who the pixies were, I was 12.
Maybe I'm niave, but I don't think they were doing it for money or anything like that. This post made me very sad D:

Too late.
Honestly, I'd rather see these reunited acts at least *try* to make another good CD instead of just coasting on the nostalgia angle. That's just plain sad to me, and the Pixies have been doing it for years now.
