Tonight in Seattle:

Dreamy show at the Crocodile TONIGHT! The Lucksmiths, Math & Physics Club, and Fred Astereo

The LucksmithsWe've been counting down to tonight's big show at the Croc for months! The Lucksmiths are in town and are ready to overwhelm us with dreamy indie-pop and songs to hold hands to.

Join us at the Crocodile tonight for the big fun of one of the best indie-pop bills we've seen in a long time:

The Lucksmiths
Math & Physics Club
Fred Astereo

Reasons to join us there:
The Lucksmiths are only touring for two weeks and a handful of shows... so we're really lucky to have them stop here for two appearances (they'll be at Sonic Boom before the Croc show for an all-ages set).

The quartet is touring in support of their brand-spanking-new double-CD release Spring a Leak. It's a compilation of non-album Lucksmiths tunes from the past decade, gathering 7” tracks, b-sides, compilation songs, live tracks, unreleased rarities, and cover versions — 45 songs in all!!!

Add to that the fact that our twee superhero friends Math and Physics Club will be celebrating the release of their new EP,  Baby I'm Yours and that the Lucksmiths are bringing their friend Fred Astereo from Melbourne, Australia with them -- it's going to be a night of delectable pop and warm fuzzies.

Speaking of warm fuzzies:

(Thanks to Seattle Show Posters for the saweeeet poster. We'll have some on sale at the show if you'd like one for your wall. Their screenprinted on heavy duty paper/board and quite swanky. If you'd like one for yourself, ask any imaginary girl or band member to buy one.)

I HATE being underage.

SOOOOO much.

I'm so sorry, Danniel! But you CAN see the Lucksmiths at Sonic Boom Ballard at 6p today. You should go!!

And need more reasons to go? Here's some photos from their San Fran show over the weekend.

Hooray! Look at that cool crowd of people... can't you just hear the good times!?!?!

Here's more photos from the Luckies San Fran weekend stop...

Want another reason to come to the show? Tullycraft just posted a Lucksmiths song on their blog -- a BEE GEES COVER!

As Tullycraft said, "People of Seattle, how can you miss this show? I know it's a Monday night, but they came all the way from Australia, and who knows when they'll be back?!"

Go listen!

Oops! I totally forgot, I'm not THAT down about not being able to go to the show tonight, for I have tickets to go see The Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem... Should be killlllah.

But alas, being underage in Seattle is a drag.

please tell me the address for this concert 2nightSept 24 - The Lucksmiths, Math & Physics Club for TIG - The Crocodile

the Croc is at 2200 2nd Ave -- on the corner of 2nd and Blanchard. See you there!

Wow. The Lucksmiths were REEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYY good.

Really.

OMG- it was FANTASTIC! I'm so glad you were able to make it! And HELLO to my new friends who introduced themselves to me last night. TOBY! MATT! SARA!

And let's not forget how AMAZING it was to see Math and Physics Club after a 10-month show-playing hiatus!!!! Their cover of "Sally Cinnamon" still has me all tingly inside (in a good way).

And Fred Astereo was a complete charmer too, no? I can't remember such a fun Monday night in ages!!

I know! I didn't mean to slight either of the earlier bands. I think I got veclempted during MaPC. Their set was flawless and super fun.

You're right Dana, Fred Astereo charmed that whole place. He was all the great things about Badly Drawn Boy and Divine Comedy with none of the schmarmy annoyingness. The F A duo was a class act. It's sad they are from Australia because now we have to wait a while for them to come back. But, folks, when they do YOU MUST BE THERE!

just wanna thank all the folks who came down early and watched us play. also thank you so much for making us feel welcome in your beautiful city. stanleyxx(fred)

Oh Stanley / Fred -- you're so sweet! Thanks for checking in! We do hope that your stay in Seattle was a highlight of the tour? You can't beat Vivace coffee, right? We loved your show -- and you've left a trail of Fred Astereo fans here.
