It's not really right to laugh at the insane/ unstable/ unmedicated (haha)
Submitted by imaginary dana on September 12, 2007.I know I'm probably a few days on this one, but hey, I can't be everywhere, all of the time online (or at Walmart. More on that coming in my next blog post).
I also know it's not really right to laugh at the insane/unstable/unmedicated, but JEEBUS I can't stop gawking at this Britney Spears superfan pleading and weeping. Speaking of gawking, this link comes from Gawker.com, and the comments over there are definitely worth a read for additional laughs ("I think it's Nick Rhodes. I had no idea he felt this way.").
Am I going to burn in hell for this? Yes or no?

That is indeed Chris Crocker. Now that I've read about him, I feel slightly more inclined to believe that I WILL go to hell for mocking his pain.

No, you won't. I think he's full of shit, and his videos are indeed funny... in a faux-tragic, faux-maudlin, Betty Butterfield kind of way.

Low class people at Walmart!!! No tellin' who you'll pass in the car on the way there.

I never understood the whole fascination with Chris Crocker. I know the Stranger wrote a huge front page article about him a few months back, but after watching a few of his videos, I don't understand the attention he receives.
This video...I can't tell if he's being sarcastic or is seriously this upset about it. I think it's the latter...I mean, the kid has nothing better to do, he's apparently couped up in his house down in the south to avoid gay bashers. He needs to get out here to Seattle or San Fran where he can have more to do than the Internet.

There was this literary magazine called Kitchen Sink that I picked up that had this essay about what horror scares the author the most out of anything that could even remotely be considered scary, and it was... any obsessive usages of cliched material in media outlets. The not only includes celebrity or the actual state of watching people, but it includes WHO watches it. And of course, it not only includes who watches, but WHO WATCHES WHO watching it. Obsessiveness get spilled over obsessivness over all ready spilled obsessiveness.
In other words... just gracing my cursor over this page scares me enough to make me cringe and not even look at it because I really don't give a damn that you obsess over other people obsessing over others' obsessions. Yes, CRINGE. iccckkyness.
Sorry if I sound enraged. I am. Kinda. Okay, only not at all. I think. Well, I just don't care. Other than... if someone wants negative attention, they get negative attention, then the people who give it also get it from another source... In other words, IGNORE ALL RETARDED YOUTUBES KTHX.

You know his situation is admittedly unfortunate, but maybe he'd find more solace in some better music, not to mention better people to idolize? Maybe we should band together and send him some Morrissey records. ha.

dude, we SHOULD bond together and throw some Morrissey (with henassey, such great love from Art Brut-rockers) into his mailbox. let's influence the lil' bugger.

Is that Chris Crocker? I haven't actually watched any of his videos, so I'm not sure.
That is actually pretty awesome - even though I haven't laughed at a Britney joke in years.
For the record, I don't have any love for Britney. I don't find her all that attractive and I think she's only had one good cover ("My Prerogative"), two songs that are pretty great ("...Baby One More Time" and "I'm a Slave 4 U"), and one that is glorious ("Toxic").
