More cancellations! This time it's the Noisettes

It was either Pitchfork or Stereogum that said cancelling shows is the new playing shows. I never knew just how acute that prognostication would turn out. The White Stripes and Kaiser Chiefs have already pulled the plug on their tours this week - and it's only Wednesday.

I didn't get tickets to either of the now-scrapped White Stripes shows, but I was not left on the sidelines today. NME is reporting (and an e-mail from TicketWeb confirms) that the Noisettes have put the kibosh on their North American tour, including the Sept. 27 show at Chop Suey, as part of Club Pop. Refunds at point of purchase, band claims exhaustion and needs a break, yada yada yada.

This routine is becoming familiar. I've had tickets for 4 shows that have cancelled this summer (which is not officially over yet): Lily Allen, Kelly Clarkson, Amy Winehouse, and now the Noisettes. Can anyone out there beat that?

What's the next band/artist I adore to be added to this prestigous list (which also includes the Cure)? The Pipettes? Arctic Monkeys? Metric?

Does this mean you won't be pitching the Kelly Clarkson review to TIG? Drat, drat, drats. ;)

I most certainly can't beat your record -- I'm at two with the Fratellis and Amy Winehouse. My condolences for your show losses -- but think of what you can do with all that disposable income you've been refunded!!

You don't have anything to worry about! She canceled her tour in the summer (her Seattle stop was at Key Arena) and has a new one scheduled for the fall (smaller venue: the Paramount! Cheaper tickets! Woot!).

Don't worry, I won't pitch it. I'll leave the notepad at home and have a great time not worrying about maintaining my fast-dwindling indie cred.

Indie cred is over-rated. I have a lot more respect for you Chris when you admit these heathen loves of yours.
