Tonight in Seattle:

My three favorite Bumbershoot photos, by C. Charles Bowden

We've seen so many amazing photos of Bumbershoot come in over the weekend, it's been hard to choose which ones to use. So we thought we'd ask some of our favorite local photographers to pick their personal three favorites from their weekend's work and to share them with the rest of the imaginary class.

Here are photographer C. Charles Bowden's favorite three, in his own words...

Devendra Banhart. Photo by C Charles Bowden
Devendra Banhart. I couldn't help but notice that these guys were by far the sharpest looking cats I saw over the weekend. And Devendra's voice!

Fleet Foxes photo by C Charles Bowden

Fleet Foxes. Totally blown away with this band. I had no idea they even existed until Bumbershoot (sad for me). At one point Christian Wargo from Crystal Skulls joined them for a four-part vocal melody. Four part!

The Watson Twins. Photo by C Charles Bowden

The Watson Twins. It took me about two songs to finally figure out the twins didn't have beards.

I heard the Watson Twins covering 'Just like Heaven' live on the radio and it made me want to suck on nails. Terrible stuff.

I haven't heard their rendition of "Just Like Heaven," but I have their Southern Manners EP as well as the record they did with Jenny Lewis. I recently heard them live at Spaceland in LA, and they are awesome musicians and very down-to-earth people.

And not hard on the eyes either, as these photos demonstrate... ;)
