Northern State {and a Pansy Division comparison}

Has anyone heard the new Northern State album (Can I Keep This Pen? was finally released today on Ipecac)? I haven't had a chance to pick it up... so for the time being, I'll keep watching a video for a song (“Better Already”) from the new album. Um... awesome!


Tangent -- does it remind you of the video for the Pansy Division (really incredible) song for "Bad Boyfriend"

Northern State has always baffled me. I seem to like them in concept a lot more than in practice, sort of like Luscious Jackson.
