Mark your calendars... Jens Lekman is coming to Seattle!!!
From his website:
Tuesday, November 6th - Seattle, WA - Nectar
No announcements on who the opening bands are (although rumor has it that they've already picked out who the lucky bands are)... but the answer to your question is "Yes, the Nectar."
You HAVE to join us there. The show is going to be talked about in indie-pop / twee / Swede-lover circles everywhere for at least the next year.
Need some convincing? Read Steve Thornton's thesis on Jens and his last album. Or watch the YouTube video. Or read the comments below. Dana and I will soon be chiming in with lots of exclamation points regarding this show. And for another video... check out Erik's June post on Mr. Lekman.
*swoon*

Let us not forget that pre-orders for Jens' new album, Night Falls Over Kortedala, have started on his website. If you order it, you get a free EP too! Jens promises it will be good:
*sigh*.

NO PROMISES!
But, we are trying to get him for an In Store as well!! It's proposed @ Queen Anne Easy Street and it's lookin' good. It's a long way off though and anything can happen.
2 scoops of swede please.

I have waited for this announcement for a very, VERY long time! HUZZAH!!!!!!!!!

Also, now that Colin (from Chop Suey) is booking Nectar, I would expect some serious changes for the venue.
Not sure if Fremont can handle it... but I'm looking forward to see!

I went to the website and clicked on the album and I can't figure out how to pre-order. Swooning makes me internet illiterate.

Oops ... I got overexcited too. Looks like they haven't started taking pre-order just yet, but will soon.

Yay for all of you who've been Lekman-neglected for so long. You will love him very very much.

Nectar is in Fremont, kinda across the street from the High Dive. I have no idea yet about ticket prices, but we'll keep everyone posted as we find out!

Not sure about who is opening, but according to It's a Trap fellow swede Viktor Sjöberg will be doing a closing set.

the hat belonged to a guy named james that used to work at
easy street. it was a big debacle because jens actually took
it with him, and had to send it back later.. the hat
originally belonged to james' grandfather and he was REALLY
PISSED that jens took it from the green room.
here's a
video of him wearing the hat and playing "you are the
light" shot by gary smith of easy street backroom and partman parthorse singing fame:

That is an amazing story, and an even better video.
I'm glad Jens returned the hat!
