Spoon coming back Seattle in September; Local athiest's prayers answered
Submitted by ChrisB on July 31, 2007.In my review of the Spoon set at the Capitol Hill Block Party over the weekend I wrote:
The last time Spoon played for a Seattle audience was the Sasquatch festival in May (I know it was at the Gorge in Eastern Washington, but I bet more people made the drive from Seattle than the much-closer Spokane) and before that, they played Bumbershoot last September. That’s three consecutive festivals now. I hope the next time Spoon plays in Seattle it’ll be a proper Spoon show with a Spoon audience.
Well, I just found out this morning (less than 48 hours after I wrote the above paragraph) that they will be playing at the Showbox on September 5. Tickets are on sale now.

Am very very jealous. I hope you have a great time. Make out with the band for me.

Great news. Spoon is an indoor/nighttime band, and this should be good. I saw them at Memorial Stadium last summer, and it was mediocre. Skipped them at the Block Party due to, er, some bad Friday BP vibes.
Anyway, got my tickets in the mail yesterday :-p
