Tonight and Tomorrow's Recommended Show: the Capitol Hill Block Party
Submitted by imaginary dana on July 27, 2007.In case you've been living under an indie-rock rock that's larger than the city of Seattle... this weekend, Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood will be inudated with 45 or so local and touring bands to rock our socks off Friday and Saturday.
TIG will have five writers and two photographers at the end and will be providing reviews and updates as we get 'em over the weekend. It's going to be BIG HUGE FUN and while it's hard to even pick shows to recommend while there are so many, I know igLiz is beside herself at the propsect of catching Brooklyn's Matt & Kim again. We will be the ones up front, and Liz will be the one singing along with every song.
Hope to see many of you there! Here's the complete schedule from the Stranger; they have loads more info over at the Stranger's website....

Don't Be Jeli Betsy, just get on a plane!
(I love how we are always trying to goad one another into air travel!)
I am gonna be rockin the Block tomorrow, and I am super stoked. I am gonna try to expand my horizons a bit, but I can't miss favs like John V, The Cave Singers and The Grand Archives!
If anyone doesn't want to brave the crowd tonight or is only going tomorrow like me, we are having and Arthur & Yu In Store tonight @ 8 with an Easy Hour @ Solo before hand.

I am so excited to finally see a ton of bands I've heard about and never heard.
Now if I just didn't wear this polyester dress. I forgot how it isn't all that comfortable on 72 degree days. After surviving all those 90+ days, 72 sounded so harmless this morning.

I'm with Liz, I'm interested to see bands that I have been hearing about but haven't heard yet! I'm really excited to dance my ass off at Girl Talk tonight at midnight. What a long day it's going to be though, haha.

I'll be there front and center to catch Matt & Kim. See ya there.
I'm also stoked to see Viva Voce again. And I'm sure Silversun Pickups will put on a great show as always.

Cal, I live vicariously through you. Those are my must-see bands, if, you know, I was there.
Jesse, I flew out there already this month! It's totally your turn!

Oh, you lucky Seattle people with your festivals and thriving music scene. Sigh.
