Colin Meloy on Comedy Central's Lil Bush tonight at 10:30p

We all know that Decemberists smarty pants Colin Meloy is where it's at. He can rant about literary masterpieces, wax poetic and write a guitar hook... but now he's taking on the role of Jeb Bush in Comedy Central's cartoon series Lil Bush. He joins the ranks of past noteworthy Lil Bush participants like Frank Black, Dave Grohl and Jeff Tweedy who have also lended their voice to the show. Rumor has it that Iggy Pop will play Donald Rumsfeld in the near future.

The show airs TONIGHT at 10:30p which means you can watch Colin's premier in between the KING 5 10p and 11p news broadcasts (during which TIG will be mentioned as "Blog of the Week")

I have yet to see an episode of this show yet, but my interest is certainly piqued. Has anyone out there seen it? Your thoughts?

It was one of those shows that end up being the opposite of how I think of most shows - I thought it was going to be stupid, saying all this overly cliched 'bush is stupid' stuff, over and over. And even though I do think that the prez is stupid, I've been thinking that for at least three years before the general public started catching on, so all of the jokes are just old.

Lil' Bush is actually a really good show, original, clever, entertaining, hilarious... great stuff. Meloy's a literary hero of mine, so I'll be tuning in.

I watched the first episode and didn't think it was terribly funny, so I haven't watched it since. It just tries to be too much like South Park for my taste (and I like SP quite a bit). They do get quite a few rock stars to do voices on it - Iggy Pop is the voice of Lil Rummy.

If I wanted to watch a South Park-like show about the Bushes, I'd find "That's My Bush" from several years ago (which was created by Matt Stone and Trey Parker).
