I'm off to go buy Gryffindor-colored tube socks at the Sneakery to wear to stand in line to pick up Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at midnight tonight!
That might just be the dorkiest thing I've ever typed.
But I don't care. I'm ***SO EXCITED*** to read this book. I must warn you that you might not see me blogging much this weekend. At least, not until I finish.
Should we start an open "What did you think???" thread for peeps to comment on once they've read the book?
Did I mention how excited I am????

Oh lordy ... only if I can start a "what did you think???" thread about the MLB trading deadline moves.

Erik is trying to make us feel immature! Well it's not going to work! Where are you getting your book Dana?

I'm all about the open thread for MLB trading deadline moves.
I hope the Mariners can get some more help with starting pitching. Or at least unload Jeff Weaver somehow.

oh MLB has something to do with baseball? Chris by now I think you'll know that I'm very bad with acronyms :d

I'll all for Wily Mo Pena getting moved for someone who can hit the ball and actually field the ball, too. That might give the Red Sox some bench depth and speed. Beyond that, I'm happy with the Sox.
Trust me, I am in no way accusing anyone of immaturity!

Oh P.S. — Boston's kicking Seattle's ass re: Harry Potter party.
And no, I'm not going. I'll be seeing Bon Savants outdoors for free here.

Kiku - MLB = Major League Baseball. :-)
Erik - I'm really liking how the Mariners are playing right now, but I'm just not sure they're deep enough to catch Anaheim. I know they're only within two games, but I think they need to make a move. Beyond Felix Hernandez and Jarrod Washburn, what's left in the rotation? Are you going to count on Horacio Ramirez and Miguel Batista during the pennant race? It all comes down to pitching. And maybe someone else who can hit the ball. Richie Sexson is only hitting .199 - and he's our power-hitting first baseman. Plus he's making $15M this season. WTF?

I'll be at the Davis, CA Harry Potter related celebrations, which will apparently involve a game of Quidditch. I can only imagine that a game of Quidditch sans magic will be something like a cross between Australian Rules Football, Tetherball, and a Renascence Faire.

So I was at the QFC in Ballard yesterday at around seven pm and they were selling the book before midnight, which I hear is pretty blasphemous. Then I laughed because I thought about all those nerds (sorry to the Imaginary Girls) who camped out overnight at the Barnes & Noble downtown, just to get there hands on a 40(!) dollar book about teenaged drama and magic.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go fight Cecil's father in order to transform from a Dark Knight into a Paladin. Wish me luck.
Rick- Thanks for ruining it for me.
Weaver blows. That is all.
