Tonight in Seattle:

Tonight's Recommended Show: Tegan and Sara at the Triple Door

Canadian indie-pop twins Tegan and Sara never fail to disappoint (in their albums or their live performances). I have seen them live at least six times and every time I see they're listed to come back, I get just as excited as I was the first time. And as "cute" as a girly Canadian twin sister duo sounds, they are anything but cute. Their whip smart on-stage banter keeps the crowd laughing and yearning for more. I can't believe they haven't released a live CD yet. It's that entertaining to hear their sassy bickering.

They’re touring for the rest of 2007 to promote their new album, The Con, which will be released July 24. While they normally live thousands of miles apart, Tegan and Sara made a temporary move to Portland in January to record The Con with Chris Walla in his studio. Also making musical appearances on this album are Jason McGerr (Death Cab for Cutie) and Matt Sharp (the Rentals).

I hope you loved them enough to get tickets right when they went on sale. If you procrastinated, I’m afraid you’re out of luck: the show tonight is sold out. But they are playing another show on Thursday night at the Triple Door (also sold out) and a FREE in-store at the Queen Anne Easy Street records at 4pm on Thursday. Get there early.

I was going to refrain from commenting on T&S, as they seem to be well-liked on the TIG, but then y'all went and dissed Jack & Meg, so game on: I can't stand Tegan and Sara. There, I said it.

Really??? I find them beyond likable, to where I can't understand why they wouldn't be liked?

BB: How do you feel about the White Stripes "Walking with a Ghost" cover?

Ew, really? Ew. That song is the source of all of my T&S loathing. In fact, I'm thinking I may put it as my "Worst Song Ever" on my new Goombah profile.

I've been refraining too, but I'm with you, Betsy. No freakin' thanks on the T&S. Maybe it's a Boston thing?

Regardless of how you feel about their particular brand of pop, at least they are putting their fans first.

Read our interview to see what we mean.

If I read your mag, will I increase my penis size?

haha, aw come on! that's kinda mean, reading a magazine would never increase your penis size and you know it! It would take a small handful of tools to do that.

Really the only reason I'll buy the next T&S album is hear Chris' recording/engineering/reverb-splattering expertise, which is pretty much amazing.

I've never been a huge T&S fan. Their songs are cute and their harmonies are tight (I guess that twin thing helps), but I saw them today when they played a few songs live on that 107.7 station and their sassy bickering increased their appeal. It's refreshing to know that people in bands have interesting personalities beyond their so-so songs.

They're pretty witty, huh? It's hard to imagine they live thousands of miles apart from each other.

Yeah, T&S kind of bore me to tears. We might not agreed on R. Kels, but Betsy and I are on the same page for J&M and T&S.

Wacked. I had no idea there were so many Tegan and Sara haters out there.

I first heard Tegan and Sara on the Greys Anatomy soundtrack, and really liked them. Then I bought their CD and really didn't. So I'm really not sure how to feel right now

How can you hate something that's so... agreeable?

I'm headed to the show tonight and am doing some research on restaurants by the Triple Door. Anyone have an suggestions?

Lovers and Haters Alike...

Will have to wait an additional week now for the new record! As of today "The Con" has been pushed back til 7/30!!!

Seems weird since they are in full tour support mode.

No kidding! I wonder if it's the printer's fault? I blame everything on the printer.

Perfect, Jesse. That gives you time to lunch with me at Emma's.

Oh Emma's!!

My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Maybe a slice and then we can take the T to the dog track and win some loot! Oh yeah, I forgot that I deplore dog racing.

YIKES I LIED!

The VINYL version of "The Con" was pushed back, not the CD.

I was misinformed. Sorry folks!

To Betsy Boston @ 1: THANK YOU. I totally agree.

Word up, sista.
