IMAGI-BLOG

New releases this week, from Easy Street Records

First up, Crowded House has their first record in nine years. Time on Earth features
Johnny Marr (that guy gets around!) on a couple of tracks and one track
co-written by the Dixie Chicks.

SPOON! We love them. You might say we're Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga for them!

Annie Clark when outside of Polyphonic Spree is called St. Vincent, and her record
Marry Me is out today. The NW fell in love with her at this year's Sasquatch festival and have been waiting for the new record ever since. Wait no more!

Smashing Pumpkins reunite without the good members. Billy Corgan was recently quotes as saying "F**K Indie Retail"!!  So I say, F that guy!

I'm heading out to the local (new) record shop here in Davis today to pick up Interpol and I already got TMBG from emusic. And I didn't even realize that the Gogol Bordello album came out today until yesterday. And Spoon? Eek! Too much stuff!

That early release from the Spoon record, "Underdog," kinda bugs me. So I'd wait on that one. :P

EASYSTREET LOVES BOAT!!! (and all Magic Markers bands!)

I am just one guy that wears many hats and things slip through the cracks sometimes. My sincere apologies.

I second the love for Jesse! And BOAT! And Easy Street! And Magic Marker!

So much love, so many exclamation points... find me an air conditioned place to work and my brain goes all giddy.

Beaming from ear to ear in the glow of adoration! And it's a two way super highway!

Betsy, I forgot to corner you while you were here and ask you if you know Jennifer Trynin?

She is one of my biggest longest enduring crushes and she lives in your town. Gimme some scoop....

Hmm, can't help you with that one Jesse — I am familiar with the name but not much beyond that. I'll keep an ear out though.

Looks like I'll be on my way to another free CD from Easy Street. I love those stamp cards. What's the deal with the M. Ward release? New material? Re-issues? B-Sides?

Also, what's with the deer and the mountian lions on the Interpol record cover? I know the red and black album covers were a getting old, but this cover is just creepy.
