Tonight in Seattle:

Greetings from San Francisco!

OMGOMGOMGOMG!

Betsy here, chiming in from SFO en route to Seattle! I'll be in your fair city in less than four hours. While I'm wasting time waiting to board for the final stretch, some notes on my travels thus far:

* MMM, Lorazepam.

* If you plead with the gate attendant with an expresssion of extreme panic, she'll give you a seat with nobody next to you.

* Blades of Glory is reprehensibly bad, but will help to put you to sleep if indeed it is your in-flight entertainment.

* Someone I know was on my flight! Bizarro.

* You still can't fly with liquids (I thought this was a temporary thing that was long over — and had to return to baggage check and check my carry-on, thus not having any of my makeup/hair products/etc. to pretty myself up for igDana when she picks me up in Seattle!).

* Second most crucial flight need: earplugs (after Lorazepam, of course).

um, actually you can bring < 3 ounce containers as long as they all fit in a quart size ziploc.

True, indeed. Problem was, without knowing that ahead of time, I had no way of making my shampoos and face creams and other such items magically transform themselves. Oh well, everything arrived in one piece and here I am at igDana's beautiful house, sipping iced coffee and getting used to PST!

ZOMG, I am sitting next to Betsy Boston RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am speechless with excitement.

P.S. Dana, the turkey bacon is really yummy, and no you did not overcook it. Mmm, good banana bread too!
Can you hand me the salt & pepper? Kthanks.

You can replace earplugs with noise canceling headphones. They're not cheap but they're worth every penny when you can plug in and listen some sort of electronic gadget as opposed to kid behind you screaming.

Noise-cancelling headphones are key to travel and cubby office living. They are worth every penny!

Bacon and banana bread?
I want to come over to Dana's house!
