Tell me it's going to be OK...
Submitted by imaginary liz on July 3, 2007.I KNEW there was something in the air that was making me feel so uneasy. I thought it was possibly that weird grape soda I drank a little too quick at lunch. Or that I am still hung up on the fact that Bush is still president (which causes me daily heartache)... but maybe it is this:
Bright Eyes, Social D, Satellite Party to rock Endfest 16
Really Conor... you're going to play ENDFEST with Smashing Pumpkins and the Used? I mean, I am sure we'll all make it through this unscathed. We made it through that make-out session you had with Winona Ryder with our dignity still in tact... shall I take this as just another 'one night stand?'
I shall.

Wait... does this mean Conor is going to leave Endfest with a neck tattoo?

Now you know how I feel when my beloved Lily Allen played a show earlier this year with Fergie. In Everett, no less!

Didn't Lily cancel that show??
And I can't wait to see if Liz's obsession with all shows Conor wins out over her aversion of Port-o-Potties/all things US festival shows.
Let the inner conflict begin!
ChrisB said on July 3, 2007:
No, she played it. In fact, I vaguely remember Lily whining about wanting liposuction after that show and it being discussed here. I just can't find it in the archives. I was definitely conflicted as to whether or not to go, but I ultimately decided not to.

I think attending EndFest involves a boat and bus ride to the middle of nowhere, does it not? I can't deal in such confined conditions. I went to an EndFest a few years ago and drinks and trash were hurled to and fro. If it matters, I think the crowd was throwing stuff because they were happy, not angry. Cake was pretty cool.

I actually think I heard on the End the other night that EndFest will be in downtown Seattle this year - I'm just not sure where.
imaginary liz said on July 3, 2007:
Oh crap... that does make it a hard decision. I can walk 'downtown' in minutes. Hmph.

It's going to be at Qwest field this year. Or the exhibition hall...one of those! (I really should research this).
Gone are the days of boarding a ferry, traveling to Bremerton, and being stuck there all day! I did see Social D at an Endfest years ago -- I don't want to put the date out of fear of dating myself. But they rocked the house, as did Belly. Ok, maybe you can tell this was the mid 90s. Sigh.

There are some artists that are NOT supposed to play any kind of festival / outdoor thing / Big Rock Show™.
I would put little Oberst somewhere near the top of that list.

PS: The End proferred tix for $10.77 yesterday (before the lineup was announced - in fact it's not even an official announcement until tomorrow). But those are long gone. Twas a nice gesture though, no?

I feel your pain too Liz. I don't think I can stand seeing Conor and The Used on the same stage even if it is downtown.

Conor sees the brass ring, and he's going for it - all in. Or maybe he just needs a good talking to from Mike Ness to get his head back on straight.
