Rilo Kiley make porn

Before you get all excited about Jenny Lewis revealing all, note that she's not the one playing the role of porn star -- she's playing rock star -- in the new video for "Money Maker," which we've gotta presume is the first single from Rilo Kiley's forthcoming record Under the Blacklight (which is due out 8/21).

Follow this link and then watch nine+ minutes of porn star interviews before you get to the song. I don't want to be a buzzkill, but I enjoyed the interviews more than the video and song. In fact, I shut the video off halfway through the song.

But maybe that's just me. I'd love to hear what you all think.

{Big bad hat tip to Stereogum for this one.}

Sorry Betsy! But it's True!

I mean the kind of hate that keeps you up at night! How you ask? Well, it just took one listen of Rabbit Fur Coat and the deal was sealed. And yes, I also hate those creepy Watson Twins too!

But I love Boston so you can't be too mad at me!

PS- R U here yet, or will you be here in time for the Sarah Borgess show tomorrow?

Back to the porn star interviews... is it just me, or could the ratty, leathery guy with the Satan goatee be Ty Pennington's nasty older brother?

Yikes!

Yikes!

Okay fine, we can still be friends. But Jenny Lewis is to me what Conor Oberst is to you, Liz. And what, um, I don't know who is to you, Jesse, so we'll fill in the blank with Sarah Borges, who I will sadly *not* be there in time to see tomorrow night. She puts on a killer show, and if her bassist Binky's in tow (not sure who she's touring with this time), chat him up, he's an awesome awesome dude.

And because you asked [not]:

When I was a wee lass, my favorite movie, "Troop Beverly Hills," featured a young redhead with whom I instantly related. The same actress would later appear on some of my favorite sitcoms including "Growing Pains," in which she got to kiss Ben (I wanted to kiss Ben!). She was so.my.hero.
Cut ahead fifteenish years, and Erik tells me I should check out Rilo Kiley. So I do. And I fall in love. And I listen like a nut. And only after doing so for several months do I realize that yes, it's THAT Jenny Lewis who I've fallen for all over again.
It's fate, see.
Anyway, "Rabbit Fur Coat" was totally meh but Jenny's still my idol, and Rilo Kiley's still my favorite band no matter what you punkasses say.

I guess if she's your Conor, than you must be used to folks taking shots at her... although Conor shots still make my fists clench... sorry about that.

Indeed, Jenny Lewis is Betsy's Rushmore

I've even tried to like her since she and Conor are such good friends... I mean, with the transitive property of obsession, I should welcome all her music projects with open arms. Alas, she is lumped in with Azure Ray in the Conor-loves-them-but-they-make-me-barf tin. It's too bad really.

Actually, no, until today I'd never heard anyone take any shots at her. That's why I was so surprised. I didn't think it was possible to dislike J.Lew.

Weird.

Everytime I hear about Jenny Lewis, I think of her as a child star in her role for Troop Beverly Hills.
