So, we've become fond here at TIG of recapping the goings-on on the NME UK pop charts, but really, how meaningful is it when most of us have no idea who the bands are in the first part? I mean, does it mean anything to you if you read that the number 5 song is by the Garbagemen or Wolfgang Puck & the Amadettes? Anyway, I've decided to undertake a project each week to run down the Top 10 songs on NME and try to listen to every song (and trust me, I've acquried all the songs legally, let me tell you) and try to post a link it on the web too!. So here goes:
What do you think? Any gems here? Should I keep this up?

I keep hearing Editors on KEXP and thinking it's the new Interpol record. They are soooooooo the same, it's kinda spooky.

I dig this column too. Always good to know what those wacky Brits are up to. I think I like Hadouken!, but that's only because that the sound that Ryu and Ken made when they shot those fireballs in Street Fighter II.

I like the klaxons well enough, but that record will likely be gathering dust along with all of my PWEI cds in a year. Sadly the Editors new record is just as boring as the new Interpol record. The Wombats are ace! Kinda bummed their short US tour is skipping Seattle. And that Rakes album is really good, didn't think so at first, but I've come around. Not as good as their first one though.
