Tonight in Seattle:

Congrats to rickg!

Poster by rickg of seattleshowposter.comLast night at the Seattle Show TIG's favorite poster designer, Rick of Seattle show posters, won BEST OF SHOW for his "Poison the Well" show poster.

Congrats Rick!

Send Rick an email (rickg [at] speakeasy [dot] net) and tell him how much he rocks.

YAY! Congrats Rick! Besides being a killer screenprinter and designer, he's a heckava nice guy... which is weird. How can he be so perfect?

I'm pretty sure he's an alien. A design alien brought to earth to rid us of awful things such as comic sans, mauve, and world hunger.

Oh, you kids are too nice.

There's nobody I'd rather print for than my Imaginary pals.

Rick's posters are amaaaaazing. How I envy such creative talent!

Rick, If you are so awesome why aren't you coming up with original ideas instead of ripping off old puppet handbooks?
Lance, I'll bet that felt really fun to say! Since you're so knowledgeable, maybe look at the source, then look at how it's put into a new context, then look at the last 25 years of rock poster design - specifically in Seattle. It's remarkable how so many critics love the work of Art Chantry and Jeff Kleinsmith but are quick to call out anyone else who does the same thing. Or... Maybe you should just keep feeling self-righteous. It'll serve you well.

Yeah, seriously Lance. Have you seen what Rick does with glow in the dark ink?  You'll be jealous when all the other cool kids have their walls lined with Rick's designs and you don't have a single poster.
