TMZ.com is reporting that John Schneider, star of TV's "Dukes of Hazzard" is auctioning off the famous car from the TV show. It's said to be valued in the millions but has had no bidders yet.
I wonder if it is because gas prices hit an all time record this week (and is now over $4 a gallon in Aspen, CO) and a 1969 Dodge Charger (the make and model of the "General Lee") gets about 9 MPG. Or maybe it's just that there are fewer people wanting to drive an orange car with a confederate flag on its roof these days.
The full story is here.

Wasn't there a fake winning bid of like $10 million? Now thats money Boss Hogg can be riled up over!

Having grown up in the South and spent more than three decades there before moving here, I can guarantee you that somewhere in the Southland, there is a lottery winner who is just drooling over the idea of buying the General Lee.
Of course, I assume that's what they're drooling about.... it could also be that the Hog Jowls are on the stove or that a cute relative just walked by.
As a Southerner with lots of hillbillies in my own family, I can crack Southern people jokes and it's okay. :)

How is that the actor in the show ended up with one of the cars? If he can't sell it I'll trade him a slighty beat up 2000 Toyota Camry for it, but only if he throws in one of the hats that Uncle Jesse used to wear.
