Tonight in Seattle:

Maté! Maté! Maté!

Mate Latte

My love affair with Pixie brand Maté Chai Latte continues!

As a result of my …things I love post a fortnight ago, the Pixie people sent me a package with all kindsa mate goodness: a box of Authentic Maté tea, a box of Maté Chai, and a box of Maté Chai Latte Concentrate (which is what I am drinking right now - NUM!).

See, the internet is magical! And tasty!

Another reason to be excited this morning: My laptop (which died last weekend) is back home with a new harddrive (the stuff on the hold harddrive is still MIA – fingers are crossed). The only thing is that the new harddrive comes with the latest version of Windows. This new version is totally lame and confusing... especially the new version of Internet Explorer which has baffled me in a whole new way.

Shall I suggest that you all add “back up harddrive” to your list of things to do this weekend? I hear it’s going to be a rainy Sunday – perfect timing, eh?

But enough about me, my maté, and computer woes – what do you all have going on this weekend?

You know what goes well with maté? A Mac PowerBook.

Just sayin'.

I would just like to say how much I love VICTROLA COFFEE AND ART!.  And how much I wish VICTROLA COFFEE AND ART would send me some coffee.  I love VICTROLA COFFEE AND ART.

Yea, a Mac PowerBook would RULE! If Apple sent one to me I would dress it up in cute outfits and blog about it every day.

If you're talking about windows Vista, then I have to agree, it is lame and confusing beyond all reason. every single time you want to do something it asks if it's ok, and the pretty version of it looks strikingly similar to mac anyways...

you could do what I do, get an Intel based Mac laptop, then install Windows on a seperate partition! It sounds silly, but I had a lot of software that would only run in Windows, and it's fun to confuse the people around you by using windows in a pretty mac-casing.

Yea - I think this is Vista - so lame! I wish I could run Mac software on a PC... except for Excel and Word -- which suck on a Mac (and, with my .xls love affair, it's dangerous when things interfere with my spreadsheets).

I'm going to go search the web to see if there's any online contests to win a MacBook.

Are you drinking your mate out of a gourd? You really ought to. And if you want a real kick, get some Mate de Coca. Now thats the stuff.

Mate de Coca? That sounds dangerously tasty. Bring it on!

I think the easiest way to find it these days is to fly to Chile, go to a market, quietly ask the crazy old market woman if she has any. She'll look around for authority figures, then reach under her booth and get a box that was smuggled in from Bolivia. Good times!

Yea - like I've never done that before.

I'll give you a complimentary Vista and IE7 lesson! And if there happens to be Maté nearby and you happen to offer me some, I won't say no...

Do you also have new Office apps? They'll baffle at first, too, but I promise you'll appreciate 'em in time. (If they stuck you with MS Works, though, I can only offer my condolences.)

I still am kinda hating the new Word cause I can't find stuff... but I can imagine it might grow on me. I do hate that the new Office files aren't backward compatible. A total bonehead MS move.

My question is why you're using explorer at all. Firefox is where it's at, dude.

And what would MS be without bonehead moves?

I'm all kindsa Firefox... both by choice and because MS stopped making products for my Macbook!! No IE, no Office 2007... doesn't seem like a great way to compete to me (ignoring the competition), but hey, what do I know?

fantastic tile work in that photo btw.

Thanks! I love the kitchen tilework as well. Bedrock Industries gets all the credit for that fabulousness.
