Modest Mouse. Photos by Michael Alan Goldberg.Wow -- Wednesday night seems to be the big night for cool folks to appear on TV. I'm especially excited that Bob Barker is making an appearance. I wonder why he's kinda slumming it and not on Letterman or Leno? Is it a network thing? Here's a rundown of this week's cool Late Night TV guests. Set thy VCRs!

***Tuesday, May 15***

Feist on JIMMY KIMMEL

***Wednesday, May 16***
Lily Allen on TAVIS SMILEY (PBS)
Bob Barker and Modest Mouse on CRAIG FERGUSON
Silversun Pickups on CONAN O'BRIEN
Howard Dean on the COLBERT REPORT

***Thursday, May 17***
M. Ward on CONAN O'BRIEN

***Friday, May 18***
Peter, Bjorn and John on LENO
Blonde Redhead on CONAN O'BRIEN

Next Monday Jesus & Mary Chain is going to be be on Letterman... but we'll blabber on about that and more next week!

I think Craig Ferguson's much funnier than Leno or Conan (yawn), and right up there with Letterman. I quite enjoy his show. Slumming it used to mean appearing on Carson Daly, though after he hosted Silversun Pickups for like a week I even think he's a-ok.

That's an interesting take. In the few times I've watched Craig F I feel like he relies on his accent to "sound funny" and convinced he must pay the network to keep the show on the air. I still find Conan interesting and BOY am I glad that Leno is retiring soon (he's sooo boring and out of touch). Letterman, of course, rules the airwaves IMO.

Those who like Conan,
and those who don't.

But it's ok, igLiz, we can still be friends. Let's just cancel those plans to hang out and watch late-night TV.

And if you're a diehard Bob Barker/TPIR fan, there are also 2 primetime specials this week feting Bob for his 50 years on television -- Wed and Thurs nights on CBS (I think at 8pm). Bob's retiring next month...

Having just come off a jaunt to LA and a post-TPIR high, I felt compelled to tell you that!
