Tonight in Seattle:

Now this is the Boston I know and love

Ah yes, Boston. Home of the "Yankees Suck!" chant, the pizza throwing at Fenway and now, a brawl at a Boston Pops Symphony concert.

Yes, opening day excitement is not limited to the Red Sox as the first summer performance of the Pops (with special guest, Ben Folds ... ?) was disrupted by a shoving match in the audience that prompted the show to stop for a few moments. Shirts were torn asunder! Who knew sure fire existed in the Pops fans. Can't wait to see what happens on the 4th of July.

Sing all about it!

Local musician Jake Brennan has been hired as the Boston Globe's resident troubadour, creating a song (and video) once a week about something in the local news, and this week's tune just happens to be about none other than the scuffle at the Pops concert that Erik speaks of. Son of local music legend Dennis Brennan and rumored on-again, off-again boyfriend of reigning Boston Music Awarded-winning Best Female Vocalist Sarah Borges, Brennan's only in week two of what the Globe's online identity, Boston.com, is calling "...an op-ed with a new twist," but so far I'm impressed, if not somewhat confused about the way-unhip Globe's foray into something so wicked awesome. But then again, the reputable Globe beats the laughable, sensationalistic embarrassingly bad Herald any day of the week.

Cause that's when the crossword comes out. I'm not above paying $2.50 to recycle the whole entire paper except for the Boston Globe Magazine, in which the Sunday puzzle resides. Love me some puzzles!
