Tonight in Seattle:

Here is an UK survey I can get behind

Speaking of Torture Mixes ...

NME reports on a BBC 6 survey about the worst lyrics ever. I won't give away the winner, but some of the lyrics they point out are true terrors (e.g., I'm as serious as cancer when I say rhythm is a dancer).

...this survey illustrates we have a lot of untapped songs for the next torture mix.

I was thrilled to see this U2 lyric made the top 10:

5. U2 - 'Elevation'
"I've got no self control/Been living like a mole now/Going down, excavation/High and high in the sky/You make me feel like I can fly/So high/Elevation"

Because those are some terrible, trite lyrics.

But this is one of my favorite lyrics ever!

8. Duran Duran - 'Is There Something I Should Know?'
"And fiery demons all dance when you walk through that door
Don't say you're easy on me you're about as easy as a nuclear war"

(miming figure gestures here)
