Straight from the horse's mouth, Silversun Pickups to play FNX Best Music Poll in Boston

Just got this on MySpace. SSPU = WOO! Some of the other bands (esp. Cinematics) = MOO.

But still the closest thing we've got here in Boston to a major-name festival, although as I recall this event is a coinciding series of shows, so like you really can only catch two or three bands cause they're all playing at the same time at different venues. I'll try to get there and report back, nonetheless.

Silversun Pickups will join:

Kings of Leon
Bloc Party
The Bravery
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Say Anything
Shiny Toy Guns
Snowden
The Cinematics

@ WFNX's Best Music Poll 2007
Lansdowne Street
36 Lansdowne Street
Boston, MA 02215

21+ over
Wednesday, June 6th @ 6pm

Pre-sale begins today @ 10am EST & ends tomorrow/Friday @ 12pm EST. General tickets go on sale is Friday at 12pm EST.

Go get those tickets!

Since when does WFNX play anything remotely associated with good music? Although, minus CYHSY & Bloc Party, I guess that bill would agree with their lack of taste. If only this were the WFNX of my youth...

Another fine example of a radio station championing bands that it never actually plays. Though I should enter a disclaimer here that I haven't actually tuned in to FNX since I used to commute to work an hour each way a couple years back, when I would always be disappointed, like Erik, at the difference between the FNX of yore and the FNX of bore. Maybe it is now playing better music (but probably not).

I will give props to Dave Drunken (er, I mean Duncan), who hosts FNX's one paltry hour of local music, New England Product. We all do what little we can to help promote the greater rock good. Like my new friend Lexi.

At least they're still better than BCN, right? Right? Anybody?

Last time I was home in New'n I actually found myself listening more to WAAF than BCN or FNX. Though none came close to the love of my life, XMU (XM channel 43).
