Happy high five day

High Five Day!In case you didn't know, today is National High Five Day. It's my second favorite National holiday, right after National Talk Like a Pirate Day (September 19, mARRRRk your calendARRRRRs).

My imaginary task for you today: High five a stranger.

"Goofy" is in the eye of the beholder. I'm very serious about my National holidays. In fact, on September 19th, I only reply to people if they call me "chARRRRR!"

I wonder if there's a day we can claim as "National Imaginary Friend Day"? Then I could walk around talking to myself and have an excuse.

*That* would be sweet.

You, Tim, are an innovator.

You've got to give them a hand though, that's some pretty fancy photoshop handy work.

Point me to the government worker we need to bribe/beg/sweet-talk to get our own holiday and I'm ON IT!!!

Just because I used the word goofy - doesn't mean I'm not taking the day seriously. I'm at school here, high five-ing as many people as I can... low five? Hell no...

I have the national high-five day soundtrack on rotation in my I-Pod (which can be found at: http://www.nationalhighfiveday.com/music.html) featuring NW artist The Thermals.

I have a click-counter running right now... I'll post my end of the day totals - at the end of the day.

Danniel, you are my hero for the day. If I went to your school, I would rock that click-counter into the triple digits. Here are some songs for your mix. They're by Seattle band, the Hands. Check 'em out.

Kayla said on April 19, 2007:

lol I just want to know how you find out about all these holidays

Imaginary-Danniel said on April 19, 2007:

Too bad it's already in the triple digits.
It's 1:25, and I'm at 587 high fives... looking to get a grand by the end of the day, but a grand don't come for free. So i might head on over to Seattle later, to reap in the 5555555's.

Whoa. Is your hand starting to chafe?

Danniel, you're my hero too! A click counter for High Five day is taking it all to a whole new level!!!

If you do get ahold of someone, can you request that we get National High Five Day off from work? I don't feel like I'm reaching my highest high five-ing potential here in the office. I could do a lot more damage out on the streets.

I'm on it...

Imaginary-Danniel said on April 20, 2007:

Well, after 24 hours (3 spent at a bingo hall) 10 spent sleeping, and 11 high fiving... I am left at 721 high fives, not quite 1000, but damn good for my first NH5D -

Fabulous job, Danniel!!!! Next year, take the day off and aim to be in large public places. And invest in some hand creme. That's gotta hurt by now...

Fan-effing-tastic. That's over 65 high fives an hour!
