Imaginary Show Rumors: Peter Buck at the Tractor

This just in: rumor has it that R.E.M.'s Peter Buck will likely be in attendence at the early Steve Poltz show at the Tractor this Saturday, April 14th!! (In case you didn't have your chance to ooh and ahh at the legendary Buck at last Friday's Robyn Hitchcock show at the Croc last Friday, well, now's your chance!)

igLiz spent a good deal of time at Poltz shows back in her Phoenix days (little known fact: igLiz once upon a time actually had Phoenix days! Craaaazy). She says his shows are "fun and quirky, like a good Austin-style show." Raise a beer!

Here's proof that the fellas are pals and have common taste in footwear (from Steve's website).

Will Buck be joining Poltz onstage? We sure hope so!

I have to admit that I loved the Rugburns. Poltz was an amazingly underrated songwriter.

Yeah - those Rugburns put on some great shows in those little Phoenix venues. By the end of the set everyone would be singing along and laughing it up.

That was one of the neat things about seeing my favorite bands in Phoenix -- no one there had a clue who any of the good bands were so it was always me and the same nine other people at the shows. I think everyone else in PHX spent their time looking for the perfect buttery nipple shot.

Oddly, PHX did have some of my favorite record stores and KUKQ (which was one of the best radio stations ever) so you can't say the population didn't have the tools necessary to superfan it up.

Ooh, I think you'll be lucky enough to have Sean Nelson on backup vocals too -- neato! It's like rock-star-Seattle comes to you!
