Tim Seely must be a huge Prince fan.
First he goes and names his label Slow Love. Then he records an incredible cover of "Slow Love" -- which he saidly had to remove from iTunes because of conflicts with the the-artist-currently-known-as-Prince.
But today -- he gets good news from Team Prince! Prince (and his publishing peeps) finally allowed Tim to place "Slow Love" back up on iTunes.
Tim also announced that he's in the throes of booking a nationwide tour, and he could use a little help from his friends. From his MySpace announcement...
"I'm heading out on tour around the US with my band in June. I'm booking/promoting it all by my damn self, so any help anyone can give as far cool venues in your town and booking folks you might be tight with, cheap/free places for us to crash etc., would be highly appreciated. Also, if you're a band with a following in your town that would like to package/trade a show, gimme a holler too: info@armyoftim.com."
He's requesting help in the following cities -- but if you don't see your city there and you want to get Tim to come to your town, he also requests that you let him know, and he'll try to accomodate...

What??!? Lookit that sexy beard! Listen to that hottie voice!! Tim Seely can sing me "Slow Love" any time of the day or night, and let me tell you, sleep ain't what'll happen, if you know what I'm sayin' and I know you do!

I saw him open for the Trachtenburgs a year or so ago at Chop Suey. Sure, the T-burgs were horribly out of date and hanging on to some wacked dream with despiration all over their faces, but Tim's opening set was so boring. I have no idea why this town hangs on his every boring note. You're right, it isn't Tim's fault. I was at fault for even going to the show (I was somehow convinced by my friends that the T-burgs would be good).

I've seen Tim Seely play a couple times on bills where I was there to see another band and I've always found him to be completely forgettable. It's obvious I'm not the only one. I think the phrase "Tim Seely Fans" might be an oxymoron.

So I guess Tim can't stay with you or Jan on his tour this summer...? ;)

Wait! Tim Seely is not boring. He just makes music for housewives. It's the perfect soundtrack for running errands in the mini-van. It's background music. He will never have any impact (or quite frankly) even be remembered in the Seattle music scene, but he's not concerned with that. Just as long as a few lonely women sing along to his inane music for a few short minutes on their way to pick-up the dry cleaning he'll be happy.
