Modest Mouse might have the Billboard #1, but Kings are King on NME

Gritty southern rockers Kings of Leon have the #1 spot on the NME charts this week with their new release On Call, displacing the Arctic Monkeys from the top position.

I only just got myself a copy of On Call this weekend and haven't had a chance to spend any time with it (see imagi-blog post From the imaginary mailbins to understand why). I've heard it's a lot more polished sounding than their last release was, which makes me think I'm not going to like it as well.

We have an official review coming soon, but I'm curious to hear some early impressions, if anyone out there has some...

Oh wait, these are singles not albums, right? I am a little skeptical of any chart that then puts Fall Out Boy at #3 ... NME seems to be heading down the same path of mediocrity as Spin or Rolling Stone In any case, I'm keen on hearing the new Kings and new Arctic Monkeys albums.
