Modest Mouse debuts at #1 on Billboard

i think they've got a lot of hype -- and one former Smith -- to thank for such a strong showing on the Billboards.

the album may disappoint some folks who are expecting a #1 album though...if i had to review it (based solely on what i heard at the live show last week, and a couple brief spins when they had it streaming on myspace), i'd peg it more of a 6...certainly not as experimental or deep as past releases.

He must have been really busy this week hanging out with ol'buddy ol'pal Ryan Adams. Or getting totally psyched for the sold out Menomena! show tonight at Bowery Ballroom!
