I love me some TAL!! What I've seen of the TV show is great, and I can't wait to see every installment, but nothing beats the magic of the good ol' radio version.
I highly recommend adding the podcast to your weekly shuffle. Week-of-broadcast it's free:

I did a story on the TAL TV supplement for a magazine in New York and was lucky enough to receive the first season in the mail. The show is ridiculously good. Not as good as radio, as Embracey said, but damn if it's not beautiful to watch. The only complaint is that episodes are just half an hour.
Graphic genius Chris Weir lent his hand to an animated short narrated by Ira in a later episode, which Slate Magazine has been kind enough to post in honor of guerilla marketing.
See it here.

I absolutely adore the podcast. I listen to it during my commute, but since TAL is an hour long and my commute is (usually) 40 minutes, I save it for when traffic is really bad. This has resulted in the ultimate Pavlovian reflex: "Yay, traffic is horrid! Now I can listen to a full episode of This American Life!"

Same here! Most recently, the Quiz Show and Star-Crossed Love episodes. The first act of each made me get all teary-eyed on the 545.

OK, that is delightful. Chris Ware is awesome.
This reminded me of being 10 years old and using a cheap cassette recorder to create fake radio news shows with my younger brother. (Kid you not.)
Thanks for sharing.
