Tonight in Seattle:

Jose Gonzalez: mesmerizing light and photos

For such a minimal setup, Jose Gonzalez took over the eyes and ears of the packed Triple Door crowd. The lighting setup instantly had us mesmerized and his sound was perfect.

The crowd seemed extremely pleased with the set, which included a mix of his well-known covers as well as his own songs from his records. His voice has a quality that really grabs an audience. Haunting soft vocals mixed with classical guitar and his signature distorted strums. I couldn't have been happier leaving with his version of "Teardrop."

Mmm, it is beautiful, especially the purple and the last one. Good work.

I know -- those photos are insanely beautiful!!

Wow....amazing photos

...and then after the show Jose Gonzalez came over to McLeod Residence and sang Karaoke and then took photos in our photo booth with our lovely bar manager Clarita!

Um... if that's not an April Fools Joke, wow. I'm speechless! What song did he sing??

It is not an April Fools joke.

McLeod Residence now has Karaoke hosted by Ada every Sunday starting at 9pm...

Jose Gonzalez sang "Wake Me Up Before you Go Go"

There is a rumor of some video, but I have not seen it...

At first I was worried you ended up doing a full review of the show. I just finished up writing mine. I suppose this way we'll both get credit if I post it separately. It was cool coincidentally being seated at the same booth.
