Ghostland Observatory states on their MySpace page that they're "not a band, but an agreement between two friends to create something that not only heals their beat-driven hearts, but pleases their rock ‘n roll souls." Missing only a mention of lasers, this quote otherwise entirely sums up Friday night's amazing Ghostland performance at the Showbox. The 21 and up show was sold out and the packed house was in great spirits before the guys took the stage. I met countless people excited to share previous Ghostland concert stories and many excited to see them for the first time.

I found myself front and center as they took the stage, eager but nowhere near ready for what was ahead. A smoke machine filled the room as the lasers turned on and went wild. Aaron Behren's showmanship got the crowd beyond hyped as he bounced all over the stage getting everyone inside the showbox entranced in the Ghostland Experience.

Although the first two songs, including the hit "Sad Sad City," got everyone excited, the version of "Mignight Voyage" lasted nearly ten minutes and really showed off why live is the best way to see this Austin Duo. I could go on and on with more details about the set but the rest of the night can be simply summed up in four words. Lasers, Sweat, Rock, and Roll.
