Who has the strongest potential to follow in Death Cab for Cutie's footsteps as Seattle's top dog? The Blakes, a riveting threesome that left a sold-out Chop Suey audience drenched and thirsty for more back in January. Having recently toured with The Brian Jonestown Massacre and set to embark on another round of concert dates in Europe (they're huge all over France), The Blakes are destined for brighter days and larger stages. They move from the Backyard Stage at last year's festival to the heavily crammed Exhibition Hall Stage this time around, where a long line is expected to get in on Sunday afternoon. They really should be opening for Stone Temple Pilots, but I'm not complaining about catching them in a more intimate, indoor setting. Listen for "Two Times," "Vampire," "Don't Bother Me," "Pistol Grip," "Modern Man," and "Magoo."
