Frente won a place in the world's hearts with a string of hit singles in the early 90s - Ordinary Angels, Accidentally Kelly Street, Labour of Love and their
beautiful acoustic take on New Order's Bizarre Love Triangle.
They also enjoyed considerable success with their debut, Marvin the album, selling a million copies around the world, and their follow-up, Shape, a
sophisticated mesh of acoustics, technology and wonderful song writing. Along
the way the band toured extensively around Australia and the world, hand picked
to play with the likes of Alanis Morissette, the Beautiful South and Everything
But The Girl.
In 2004 Simon and Angie tentatively dipped their toes back in the musical pond together with some rapturously received shows in Los Angeles and
New York. Angie and Simon took the plunge and were joined by the wonderful Bill McDonald and Pete Luscombe to play a sell out tour of Australia in early 2005. Each show was a corker!
Simon is based in New York and continues to do a whole bunch of musical things - including production and very complicated sonic logistic things which we lack the vocabulary to describe properly! Angie has returned to her hometown of Melbourne after ten years away and is working on completing her first solo album, which should see the light of day in early 2007.
