The Beautiful Clarks just completed their first demo consisting of four songs (sweet gravel, what kinda fool, laid up & bended knee).
Sweet Gravel was basically a home studio demo that was cleaned up and brought to life with the help of Joel Brown. Lyrics and instrumentation by Billy Hatcher. Chris Benson on the organ.
What Kinda Fool was recorded live at the Soundhouse in Ballard with the help of Dan Phelps (drums), Chris Benson (bass, organ), Kris Rosentrater (drums), Billy Hatcher (guitar & vocal), Joel Brown (producer & tambourine) & Kory Kruckenberg (engineer).
Laid Up was also recorded live at the Soundhouse in Ballard with the help of Chris Benson (standup bass), Kris Rosentrater (drums), Billy Hatcher (guitar & vocal), Rosie Thomas, Damien Jurado (vocals), Dan Phelps (piano), Jeff Shoop (acoustic guitar), Joel Brown (producer) & Kory Kruckenberg (engineer).
Bended Knee was recorded live in an abandoned warehouse in Ballard with Billy Hatcher on lap steel and vocals, also produced by Joel Brown.
