Pants Yell! began in 2003, within the walls of a Boston art school. There have been three albums: 'Songs for Siblings','Recent Drama', 'Alison Statton' and a 7" single. We've played all over the US and Europe with such fine folks as Jens Lekman, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, the Islands, Xiu Xiu, Cass Mccombs, Camera Obscura, Suburban Kids With Biblical Names, Zeppelin, the Stones....
'ALISON STATTON' IS OUT NOW via SOFT ABUSE RECORDS.
"If I were younger I’d be wearing my fringe like Roger McGuinn. I’d be earnestly nodding with pretend knowing at a band’s good sense in decorating T-Shirts with maverick individuals like Dan Treacy and Edwyn Collins. I’d be scratching PantsYell! on my arm with a fountain pen and drawing hearts around my headaches.
But feelings transcend the ages. The emotions escape gravity’s pull and exist outside of history. And thank goodness for that. Thank goodness too for Pants Yell!, the group who more than most remind me of this fact."
- Alistair Fitchett. Plan B Magazine, September 2006.
I also get recognised by guys who spend too much time in their rooms listening to records...But if they had girlfriends, would they buy our records?! Would we rather they be happy?! Tricky moral question...
